The Candidate

Alex was born in World War II Kent County and was raised in Kent County. Graduating from Chestertown High School, he left to attend Washington and Lee University, graduating in 1965, and the University of Maryland Law School in 1968. He then served two years in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1970. Alex then joined his father in the practice of law. He has now practiced law and been active civically for 40 years in Chestertown. He has previously served two full terms as County Commissioner and he was appointed to fill out the term of the late Scott Livie in 2006.

Alex is the immediate Past President of the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy and remains a board member – however, if elected he would resign his board membership. Likewise, he would resign his position with the Chestertown Ethics Commission, if elected.

Alex is married to Marjo Rasin (41 years) and has two daughters (Beth and Katherine) and two granddaughters (Sophia and Maggie).
